Support our Student Emergency Fund

This holiday season, help us ensure that every At the Table student has their basic needs met during college.

All college students have the same basic needs: food, a place to live, utilities, transportation, a phone to connect to the outside world. If they’re parents, care for their children while they attend classes and complete coursework.

We believe every student, including and especially students with lived experience of foster care, should have these needs met during college. That’s why we started At the Table’s Emergency Fund, which last year disbursed over $44,000 to keep tuition balances out of collections, stop evictions and utility cut-offs, prevent students from going hungry, and connect them with needed personal goods.

Right now, the fund offers vital support to students facing emergencies, in a way that is quick, low-barrier, and respectful of our students. Tomorrow, we’re going to need it to do even more.

We are asking for your support in growing our Emergency Fund to meet the challenges of the coming four years, which may include cuts or delays to the government benefits (such as SNAP) on which so many of our students depend. If our social safety net gets weaker, then our emergency fund will need to be more resilient and more proactive so that students do not need to put their college dreams on hold as a result of our political climate.

We are more grateful than ever to be in community with our students, and with all of you. If you can, please consider making a contribution below.
